Strip Disc Manufacturer
Rex manufactures non-woven strip discs for removing rust, paint, coatings and weld stains. They clean the surface with little risk of damaging the base metal. Four mounting types are available: fiberglass-backed disc, shaft-mounted wheel, hook and loop wheel and quick-change disc. Rex offers OEM private label and bulk supply.

Choose the Mounting Type by Your Tool
| Mounting Type | Tool | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Fiberglass-backed disc | Angle grinder | Large-area rust and paint removal |
| Shaft-mounted wheel | Drill, die grinder | Small areas, corners, on-site repair |
| Hook and loop wheel | Hook and loop backing pad | Fast disc changes, suits rotating between process steps |
| Quick-change disc | Pneumatic tools with quick-change connectors | Auto body repair and jobs with frequent disc changes |
Strip Discs vs. Wire Brushes vs. Flap Discs
The advantage of strip discs is that they clean only the surface layer. They do not cut the base metal, and they do not shed wires the way wire brushes do.
| Task | Strip Discs | Wire Brushes | Flap Discs |

What Strip Discs Remove
- Rust: Rust layers on steel plate, pipe and weldment surfaces
- Paint and coatings: Old paint, primer, powder coating
- Weld stains and heat tint: Black and blue discoloration after welding
- Adhesive and grime: Adhesive residue, sealant, oily film
They suit jobs where the workpiece must keep its original dimensions.
Watch Speed and Heat During Use
- Do not exceed the maximum speed marked on the disc
- Do not press too hard; let the web do the cleaning
- Too much speed or pressure melts the resin and leaves black resin smearing on the workpiece
- On thin sheet, keep the disc moving and do not stay in one spot, to avoid local overheating and distortion

Frequently Asked Questions
We work systematically to integrate corporate responsibility in our core business and make our expertise available for the benefit of the societies where we operate.
Can strip discs be used on aluminum?
Yes, but use low pressure and keep the disc moving to avoid overheating and leaving resin marks.
Can all four mounting types go in one order?
Yes. They can also be combined with other Rex products in one order.
Strip discs or wire brushes: which is better?
For removing paint and coatings, and for work on thin sheet, strip discs are better: they do not damage the base metal and do not shed wires. For heavy rust and weld slag, wire brushes also work.
Can I test samples first?
Yes. Samples are made before bulk production. The sample policy is confirmed when quoting.
